Happy DECEMBER! That's wild. The year is almost over... but my obsession with Kylie Cosmetics is only just beginning. Read on!

1. Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

I can't even talk about this book right now without stumbling over my words. It's beautiful and upsetting and familiar and absolutely wonderful, and I think it's my new favorite John Green book. I felt so close to the main character, and the way he captures the voices of young adult women and gets right in their heads has always amazed me. It's like listening to the internal dialogue of my 16-year-old brain, and Turtles All the Way Down hit even closer because of those spirals that I've found myself in too.

I can't say enough about this book. (And yes, I cried.) Just read it.

2. Kylie Cosmetics' Matte Liquid Lipsticks

If you thought the hype was just hype, you are incredibly wrong. I bought the Twenty Lip Kit after seeing yet another beauty vlogger hype it, and realized how much earlier I should've jumped on this train.

First: I'm 50/50 on the lip liner. It's a fine product, but I've never been a massive fine of liners in the first place (though, yes, I get the many purposes).

But the liquid lipstick product – oh my god. It's so good. The product goes on evenly and dries quickly, and there's almost no transfer even without blotting. The Twenty color I got is essentially a dupe for Kat Von D's Lolita shade, but the formula makes it a clear winner (also, the standalone lipsticks are $2 cheaper than KVD).

Basically, I'm obsessed.

3. Scarleton Chic Casual Backpack

I've been wanting a smaller "fashion" backpack for awhile now, and was originally going to go with a Longchamp one, but the price made me hesitate. I love Longchamp bags and they were my go to in New York, but something about over-the-shoulder bags just doesn't work for me in LA. This Scarleton backpack is great because it's exactly the right size to hold my purse essentials, and probably also a book too.

(It's also an A+ Disneyland backpack and fits those ears nicely!)

4. Demure Vixen by Essie

I picked out this shade the last time I got a manicure purely in a moment of panic because I was being indecisive and was waffling too long. At first, in the bottle in the salon, the shade looked a bit purple-ish, but it's actually a dusty pink – and it's gorgeous.

Watch this:
  • The Problem with Apu
  • Have you been keeping up with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? If you haven't, get caught up. It's so good this season.
Listen to this:
  • Reputation by Taylor Swift ... On repeat, every day. (And no, I actually really don't give a shit about your judgement.)
